Opportunities for artists
"Postcards to the G8" - Small Art, Big Perspectives
Building a Mosaic of Artists' Interpretations - One Postcard at a time
'Postcards to the G8' is a visual arts show which will run during the 2010 G8 Summit in the host community of Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. Muskoka Arts & Crafts is calling on artists world wide to inform G8 leaders, through their artwork, of issues of public concern in their home countries. While the politicians will be bringing their own agendas to the G8, the idea behind this show is to ask the People, 'What issues are important to you?'
Venues for the show will vary, and will be located through the region during the summit.
Submissions may be created in any medium, and executed on a 4X6" 'postcard' sized piece of paper. There is no limit to the number of pieces an artist may submit and no entry fee.
'Postcards to the G8' will open on June 5th and continue until June 30th, 2010. The deadline for submissions is May 15th, 2010.
Works are to be mailed post-paid to Muskoka Arts & Crafts, PO Box 376, Bracebridge, ON, Canada, P1L 1T7
A non-profit visual arts organisation, Muskoka Arts & Crafts is completely self supporting and is receiving no funding towards the financing of 'Postcards'.
